Updating my playstation 2 picture relative dating

It downloads fine but will not install, I just get the above error. and find instructions that way, on how to remove it. Yes my PSP was used, Im not interested in anything thats not permitted or grey areas, I just want to get it back to normal to play finalfantasy tactics which I have bought recently. How do you tell if a PSP has custom firmware, for future reference? Or you could go back to the seller and complain and they would fix it for you.

Basically it wont update, the system softerware says version 3.10 OE-A'Ive tried to update it off the UMD with transformers and finalfantasy tactics and I just get the message = The game could not be started. Bet that's why it won't update.anyway, being that it's stickyed that this type of talk isn't permitted....
